About

HealthWorthIt is a small independent site about food and supplements for people over sixty.

We write for two kinds of readers: people in their sixties, seventies and eighties who are looking after their own health, and the adult children who do the shopping for them.

What we do. We read labels, published lab reports and manufacturer documentation, then lay the information out so it can be compared side by side. We pay attention to the things that are easy to miss: the form of an ingredient rather than the headline milligram number, the cost per day rather than the cost per bottle, and whether a product has been tested by a laboratory that does not belong to the brand selling it.

What we do not do. We do not test supplements ourselves. We have no laboratory and no clinical staff, so any page claiming we had personally verified a product would be false. Where we cannot check a claim, we leave it out or we say plainly that it is the manufacturer’s claim.

We are not doctors or pharmacists. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Supplements interact with prescription medicine, and the only person who can tell you whether one is safe for you is someone who knows your medical history.

How we pay for the site. Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may receive a commission from the retailer. The price you pay is the same either way. We include products we earn nothing from whenever they deserve to be on the page, and we say so on the page when that is the case.
